For paid appointments, payment will be taken within 24 hours of appointment confirmation. We please ask everyone having an alcoholic drink to bring photo I.D
If you do need to cancel or change your appointment, we please ask you give a minimum of 72 hours notice. No children on your bridal appointment.
Bridal
How far in advance should I order my wedding dress?
Most brides tend to order their dress 12-18 months in advance. But if you are shorter on time, a lot of designers do offer express delivery at an extra charge, and we have a great range of ‘off the peg’ dresses that can be taken home same day.
What size bridal samples do you have?
Although we only stock one of each dress, we carry a range of sizes from 8-26 but we can order any dress in sizes 4-32.
Can dresses be altered?
Yes – many different alterations can be made to the dresses including shortening the length, taking dresses in and letting them out, shoulder and waist lifts, adding straps or sleeves and many more.
Do you offer in-house alterations?
Yes, at an additional cost, we have a great in-house seamstress to get your gown fitting to perfection.
How long will my dress take to arrive?
Delivery varies between designers, but typically 4-6 months. Please allow an extra 8 weeks for alterations and pressing.
Can I take photos during my appointment?
No – We don’t allow photos in dresses during your appointment.
What is the price range of your dresses?

Do you stock plus-size dresses?
Yes! We have lovely collection of plus size dresses to try on and order in sizes 16-34.
Bridesmaids/ Flower girls/ Teen dresses
How far in advance should I order my bridesmaids dress?
We recommend ordering your bridesmaid dresses 6-12 months in advance. If you are shorter on time, a lot of designers do offer express delivery at an extra charge.
What size bridesmaids samples do you have?
Although we only stock one of each style, we carry a range of sizes across styles from 4-24 but we can order any dress in up to 50 colours in sizes 4-32. Our children’s collection of flower girl and teen dresses start from age 1 to age 16. Holy Communion
Do you sell Holy Communion dresses/ accessories?
Yes, we sell a range of both dresses and accessories for your daughters first Holy Communion. Be prepared and start your shopping early to allow time for delivery, alterations and pressing. Although we do carry a large collection of off the peg communion dresses, if you do need to order another size, this can take up to 12 weeks for delivery.
Suits & Menswear
Do you sell or hire suits?
We have 2 floors of menswear at The Suit Lounge. The ground floor is our retail collection, showcasing a range of designers, styles and colours. We stock House of Cavani, Marc Darcy and Charles Grey. Upstairs is our hire wear department, offering a wide range of styles and colours from the Peter Posh collection.
What is the price range of your suits?
Retail suits: £100-£400
Hire suits: £89-£220.
This typically includes jacket, trousers, waistcoat, tie, shirt, cuff links and a standard insurance.
When should we order/hire our wedding suits?
We would always recommend being prepared and start looking for your suits 12 months in advance. However, if your wedding is a little closer, we can accommodate your needs in a shorter time frame.
How are measurements taken?
After your initial appointment, once you have chosen the style(s) of suit for you and your groomsmen, we will then make you a separate appointment with our fittings team. We will take measurements and try styles on for the best fit.
Do you cater for children/page boys?
Yes – In both hire wear and retail we have children’s sizes. In retail, they range from Age 1- Age 14. In hire wear, they range from Age 3- Age 15.
What happens if someone in the wedding party lives far away?
If they are unable to make a visit to us for their fitting, we can use their own measurements.
Prom
Do I need an appointment for prom dresses?
Yes – we would always suggest pre-booking your appointment to ensure we have a fitting room and personal shopper available to assist you.
Do you charge for prom appointments?
We offer two appointment options for prom dress shopping:
The Standard (Free)- 1 hour appointment in our Prom room. You and one guest. Try on lots of beautiful styles with a personal shopper to assist you.
If you would like to upgrade, we also offer the VIP Prom Lounge (£20). You and two guests will have full access to try on as many dresses prom collection as you would like to. This includes mocktails for you and your guests during your 2-hour appointment. If you end up saying yes to the dress that same day, we will deduct the cost of the appointment from your final balance.
What is your prom dress price range?
Sale dresses: £99-£299
New designs: £299-£599
Do you keep a register to avoid duplicate dresses at the same school?
Yes – We make a note of the school each dress is sold to, so we don’t sell the same dress to the same school twice.
When should I start shopping for prom?
We would always recommend starting your search in the November before your prom in June/July, as by the end of January/ first week in February the designer doesn’t take on any new orders. After this point, it will just be the sizes, styles and colours available in stock to buy. Time is also needed to allow for any alterations and pressing.
Ordering & Payments
Do you require a deposit?
Yes – To place your order with us you would need to put down a 50% deposit with the remaining balance being paid on delivery of the item. This can be done in person or via a payment link.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, card (in-person, over the phone or via payment link), cheque or bank transfer.
Can I cancel or return a special order?
No – The item you have ordered has been made in your size and colour specifically for you so we are unable to cancel/return it once your deposit has been paid. This also means we are unable to offer refunds on deposits/ payments made or cancelled orders.
When is the final balance due?
Upon arrival of your item to store. This can be paid in person or via a payment link. We would then arrange collection within 7 days as we do not offer storage
in store.
Alterations
Do you offer alterations?
Yes, we have an in-house seamstress and tailoring service.
How much do alterations cost?
Costing varies depending on what needs to be done. Our seamstress will happily give you a quote before any alterations begin. Alterations do not have to be paid for until they are complete.
How many fittings will I need?
Generally, depending on how much work needs to be carried out, between 2 and 6 fittings.
When should alterations begin?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity of alterations.

Is parking available?
The closest car park to us is the South Street car park, just over the road!
Can I browse without an appointment?
During weekdays, you are very welcome to pop in to browse. Saturdays however do get fully booked in all departments, so we are less likely to have a member off staff to assist you so if you would like to try on we would always suggest pre-booking your appointment to ensure we have a fitting room and personal shopper available to assist you.
Do you have dresses/suits available to take home the same day?
We have a range of bridal and menswear sale options that are available to take home same day- please note that sizes of sale items are limited as we do not stock every size of each dress/suit.
Do you sell accessories, veils, shoes, ties, and cufflinks?
